The U.S. dollar has risen to 20-year highs and its rate of change has historically been a crisis warning sign. Japanese yen and euro currencies are acting like emerging market currencies.
Great note. You also have high duration (interest rate sensitivity) with EMD, which has been another massive headwind to the asset class YTD. Good Odd Lots podcast from June 27th on challenges in EMD (with Jay Newman) if people are interested.
Great stuff! Buckle up
Bitcoin was developed right after the GFC. The value of Bitcoin is that there are no counterparties. Yes as long as the dollar system is around the current system will suck liquidity into the center of the system (as George Soros wrote). However as the banks fail this will create a systematic crisis even greater than what was experienced during the GFC.
With the Eurozone on the verge of collapse I don't think anyone is going to bailout the global banking system. China is also going to burn as well, albeit for very different reasons.
This is what Bitcoin was designed for. A global crisis that wipes everyone out. At that point there will only be one thing standing : Bitcoin. Everyone else will be toast, except for the Russians.
