Mining Dashboard Takeaways 2/9/24

Public Miner Jan 2024 Performance
- All miners who have released data underperformed in January compared to December, but should be expected due to curtailment.
- Cleanspark (CLSK), Core Scientific (CORZ) and Marathon (MARA) added mining rigs.
- Cipher (CIFR), CLSK, HIVE and RIOT added significantly to their BTC holdings, with the largest percentage increase (42%) coming from CIFR.
- Hut8 (HUT) was the worst performer, selling 79 BTC from their holdings and energizing fewer rigs. Their stock price reflects that.
Mining Metrics
- Hash Rate is up huge, outpacing difficulty.
- 30-day Revenue is slightly up WoW, but down 15% in the last 30 days.
- 30-day Fees are down to $10M from last update, and down 65% in the last 30 days, due in large part to the decline in the number of Inscriptions.
- The Mempool is now shrinking rapidly, down to 255 MB, with high priority fees under $2.
- The number of daily Inscriptions has cratered to only 29,849 yesterday from 130,000 last update.
